One-day and Half-day Correlation & Regression Courses
These one-day and half-day courses will provide you with a thorough and practical understanding of Correlation, Simple Linear Regression, Multiple Regression, and Logistic Regression. You will be guided to generate Pearson’s correlation coefficient, Spearman’s rho, and Kendall’s tau-b, and explain the results. You will gain knowledge and competence to enable you to screen your data for linear relationship before following it with regression analysis. Health, medical, and social scenarios are used to enhance understanding of the concepts of correlation and regression.
Small Class Size
To ensure that high quality and responsive learning support is given to each participant on our public courses, we only take a small class with a maximum of 9 participants. Therefore, it is important you register your interest early to secure a place.
Pre-requisite
This is a beginner’s course, so no knowledge of SPSS is required. Please see course details below for the course reminders.
Teaching Methods
The teaching method is mainly hands-on. It is supported by presentation, demonstration, discussions, questions and answers.
The tutor will screen share to examine each participant’s project to provide suggestions, corrections and efficiency tips.
Training Workbook and Video Recording
Each participant receives an instructional workbook and the video recording of the training.
Certificate of Completion & After Training Support
Each participant receives a certificate of completion and ongoing after training support via phone, email and screen sharing.
Correlation
By the end of this section, you will be able to:
- Measure relationship between two variables using correlation coefficient.
- Graph the relationship using scatter plots – simply, overlay and matrix plots.
- Understand parametric and non-parametric correlation – Pearson, Spearman, Kendall’s tau.
- Examine partial correlation.
- Examine and isolate multi-colinearity between variables.
- Report the correlations
- Consider data appropriate for regression modelling.
Regression
By the end of this section, you will be able to:
- Understand the concept of linear regression.
- Consider data appropriate for regression modelling.
- Perform Simple Regression.
- Perform Multiple Regression.
- Perform Logistic Regression.
- Assess the goodness of fit of regression model.
- Interpret regression model.
Course Reminders
- If you do not have IBM SPSS software installed on your laptop, you can download a 14-days FREE trial copy from this link.
- Practice files come with a working copy of the software.
